Must-try beers: Boozy brews

Midnight (Glenora barrel-aged, strong dark Belgian)
North Brewing Company
“Dark and delicious,” says Matt Scott of Rockhead Wine and Beer Market. Sample this multifaceted 10.5% beer for flavour combinations including cherry, chocolate, vanilla, and whisky.
Mons Abbey Quadrupel D’Abbaye
Belgh Brasse
Amos, Q.C.
Like the name suggests, this is a stronger version of a Belgian Tripel. This one is known for its copper colour and sweet taste, and makes a great dessert beer. Find it at some NSLC locations.
Imperial IPA
Garrison Brewing
This local-classic unfiltered brew weighs in at 8%, and packs a bitter punch. It’s fruity and malty with a citrus finish.
Dominus Vobiscum Hibernus
Microbrasserie Charlevoix
Baie-Saint-Paul, Q.C.
A complex and warming ale known for its balanced taste and bitter finish. Find it at Rockhead.
Delirium Tremens (Belgian strong pale ale)
Brouwerij Huyghe
Widely considered one of the world’s best beers, this aromatic ale had to make our list. Its banana, citrus, and herbal blend of flavours is truly unique. Find it in bottles at most beer stores, and it’s currently on tap at Bishop’s Cellar.
